Quiet Maine Town Abuzz Over Prostitution Scandal

A quiet town in Maine has been rocked by a prostitution scandal.

New England is home to many small towns where everybody knows one another. Kennebunk, Maine is one of them. So imagine the shock of many conservative locals when one of their own was accused of being a prostitute. 29-year-old Alexis Wright was a single mom and a fitness instructor in Kennebunk, teaching Zumba classes from her own studio.

However, neighboring tenants claim men would show up at the studio “at all hours of the day and night” and leave 30 to 60 minutes later. According to police reports, Wright allegedly videotaped the sexual encounters without the men’s knowledge.

Wright has been arrested along with another local, 57-year-old, Mark Strong Sr., who is accused of being her business partner, investing in the prostitution venture and setting up the video equipment.

Both have pleaded not guilty to charges including tax evasion, engaging in prostitution and invasion of privacy. Prosecutors claim to have a ‘meticulous’ list of clients, 100 hours of video and nearly 14,000 screen shots. Some well known and respected authorities including lawyers, doctors and police officials were said to have been on the list.
