An Islamic protestor in Pakistan has died after reportedly inhaling the smoke from burning American flags at a protest rally in Lahore.

Though rallies at the city’s mall were banned, the streets were closed to traffic from twelve noon until six in the evening to accommodate the large number of protestors who showed up.

Abdullah Ismail was taken to the hospital after witnesses say he felt sick and attributed it to the smoke that he was exposed to at the rally where protestors were burning American flags.

One of the protestors told reporters that they are demanding that the United States pass a law against blasphemy, or the people will not allow an American embassy to operate in Pakistan.

Ten thousand people flooded the streets of the capital city of the Punjab province to protest the release of an anti-Muslim film entitled “Innocence of Muslims.".

The film has been the subject of a tremendous amount of outrage in the Muslim world, including the killing of an American ambassador in Libya.
