STORY: Fashion doyenne Vivienne Westwood is encouraging people to have a less is more approach when it comes to buying clothes.
In an interview before her London Fashion Week show on Sunday (September 16) Westwood said she only wants people to buy clothes when they need to.
''Of course I try not to waste and my way of not wasting is to try to concentrate on quality not quantity. And you know my message, it is buy less, choose well, make it last. Even better, don't buy anything. Don't buy any clothes for ages until you really have to,'' said the designer.
When asked if that meant people not buying her new Red Label collection, the designer said she wished people wouldn't buy it. But then added that she is a fan of the clothes.
''I know but my job gives me an excuse to talk and also, I like these clothes,'' she said.
Westwood is promoting a 'climate revolution' cause where she would like to see people recycling and not being wasteful.
