Avoid impulsive buying – harder to say than to do I know but think twice before you buy and ask yourself do I really need it? Will I wear it often? If no, you should walk away as it will only be impulsive.
Go full vintage – besides being super trendy, you’ll give a second life to highly fashionable items and you’ll also wear unique pieces.
So instead of going in fast fashion shop, go for the little vintage clothing shop that’ll make the fashionista that you are at the top of your game.
Be aware of the greenwashing – be careful to the brands you’re choosing to buy from. From luxury brands to high street fashion, some brands want to show a green and eco-friendly image in order to attract more customers.
Educate yourself on the brand, its history, where they manufacture their clothes to see if they truly are green.
Read the tag – it will help you understand where the fabric comes, if there are some certifications that will limit the environment impact or if the cotton that the fabric was made off comes from a sustainable farm.
Privilege the brand that take actions regarding their production.
Shop from local designers - find that little designer that is designing clothes from their living room.
Most of the time, they are offering fully sustainable clothes with recycled or organic fabrics. You’ll support small businesses and get original pieces.
