It's not uncommon for people to place religious statues in front of their homes.

Darlene Fraga had a Virgin Mary statue in her front yard. A few weeks back someone decapitated the statue and subsequently, its head was replaced with a genome.

Darlene is a resident of Windsor Locks, Connecticut.

While the police are considering this as vandalism, Darlene wants this to be investigated as a hate crime and believes her property was specifically targeted.

She notes - "That's up in my yard. That's not near the corner. That's right on my yard,"

A reward of $1,000 has been put up by her friending for providing information relating to the penetrators.

Vandalism comes in all sorts of typical and unusual forms.

Recently, a 47-year-old Professor Stephen Graham from Newcastle University was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. He allegedly used a screwdriver to scratch polite, civil comments on about two dozen high end vehicles in Newcastle, UK. The chosen words that were etched into the vehicles included “really wrong”, “very silly” and “arbitrary”.
