Veteran swimmer abandons Cuba-US crossing

The veteran long-distance swimmer American Diana Nyad has been forced to abandon her fourth and possibly final bid to swim from Cuba to the United States.

The 62-year-old battled squalls and rough seas but a swarm of jellyfish made it too dangerous to complete the 166-kilometre crossing.
