Japan has launched a rocket with an unmanned cargo transporter to the International Space Station.

Carrying up to six tonnes of food and other materials for the astronauts on board the ISS, it is expected to dock in a week's time.

After delivering its supplies, the rocket will be reloaded with waste and then sent to burn in the earth's atmosphere.
