Show jumping is an equestrian discipline where the rider has to lead his horse through a course consisting of of multiple obstacles. Most of time, those obstacles have different distances between another and are of unequal height. Courses are not just put together without any thought. Mathias Rosellen, for example, is a horse jumping course designer. His resposibility is to offer the audience an interesting and exciting tournament. Not only good ideas on the groundline of the course are important for the implementation but also many helping hands are needed. In this video, the different features of a course are explained. Especially the height and the colors of the jumps influence horse and rider and the designer has to make sure that a rhythmic canter is possible througout the course.
