To fund his new hen house, Michael Friedinger thought up a new and unusual method. He issued his own shares and gave his egg customers the opportunity to share in the building costs. A ?500 share yields a return of about four percent. That means shareholders receive a cash payment of ?20 or have a claim to sixty eggs a year.
