Released to the Game Boy in 1992, Super Mario Land 2 came three years after the original Super Mario Land, a game Classic Game Room's Derek is a controversial critic of. But Super Mario Land 2 is a lot better than the first because, among many other reasons, it actually plays as brilliantly as a Mario game should. The gameplay has been tightened up exponentially in Super Mario Land 2. Platforming is much smoother and more responsive, and most importantly, Mario is back to his old self. He feels like Mario, he jumps like Mario...he even looks like Mario.
