Does your dog beg you for a taste of your ice cream?

Well, doggies are wagging their tails and barking for joy all across Italy for an original ice cream made specifically for them.

Revealed at a gelato festival, the ice cream, called IceBau was a concept created by a University of Bologna instructor Robert Lobrano in order to offer a healthy, cold treat for our faithful friends. The ice cream is a soft serve variety made by adding water to the powdered mix.

More than half of all dog owners feed their dog ice cream, but only a small portion of these owners know that ‘human’ ice cream is bad for a dog's digestive system and can cause diarrhea and food allergies. IceBau contains no gluten and is made with no lactose making it more easily digestible for your four-legged friend.

In the States, Nestle Purina has offered American dog owners a frozen treat called Frosty Paws since 2009.
