SAP Wins PR News CSR Award; Norfolk Southern Earns Corporate Excellence Award; Medtronic Launches Save a Life Simulator Videos - CSR Minute for April 26, 2012

SAP has won the PR News CSR Award for its 2010 sustainability report. The report covers the company’s software innovations for energy management and sustainable operations, and features enhanced capabilities for interaction with readers, from interactive charts to a function that allows readers to speak out on issues.

Norfolk Southern has been recognized by the American Carbon Registry with a Corporate Excellence award for its performance in measuring and reducing the rail company’s emissions. The award was given for the commitment to reduce CO2 emissions to 10 percent below 2009 levels by 2014.

Medtronic has launched an online, interactive “Save a Life Simulator” to promote timely response to sudden cardiac arrest by bystanders. The first person, point-of-view videos put the viewer in the shoes of an everyday mall-goer who witnesses a person experiencing severe heart problems, then describes steps to help.
