The deportation of radical cleric Abu Qatada from the UK to Jordan has been thrown into confusion after the European Court of Human Rights said it had received a last-minute appeal.
The appeal means the deportation process is stalled until a panel of judges rule on whether the case should go to the court's Grand Chamber.
