Tramlink Stadler Variobahn 2555

One of the new Stadler manufactured Variobahns for TFLs London Tramlink! Early January saw the arrival of the first one (Numbered 2554), since then 2 others have arrived (2555 and 2556). For the last few weeks, 2554 has been out on passenger test runs on Route 3 (New Addington to Wimbledon, however, it only comes up to New Addington out of service as part of testing, and so terminated at East Croydon) and passed with flying colors! Now 2555 is out for testing and the day this was recorded (12th April 2012) was the very first passenger run on 2555. However it did not do the full circuit. Only from East Croydon, round the loop (George Street... Centrale... Wellesley Road) and back to East Croydon. Nevertheless, I have been tweeting a person I know who works at the depot (@TramFan) and she said its out, so after month and months of waiting, I finally got a ride on one! And they are absolutely gorgeous! Smoother, longer, taller, more seats, more space & air conditioned!
