When it comes to naming new video game franchises that simply exploded into a massive success in the past five years, Mass Effect would be somewhere at the top of the list. The first Mass Effect introduced an incredible sci-fi story and atmosphere. The second greatly improved on the first game, won a huge amount of Game of the Year awards, and cemented BioWare as one of the gaming industry’s most beloved developers. With BioWare’s trademark storytelling and an unrelenting “Take Earth Back” advertising campaign, Mass Effect 3 arrived with huge marketing fanfare. It is here, ready to tell the final chapters to Commander Shepard’s mission against the Reapers, and attempts to deliver yet another memorable adventure.
