I can't believe how much more quiet my car sounds since the Y pipe was replaced. This fix is well within the capabilities of the average do-it-yourselfer. Just be careful - when you are grinding those old bolts off, there are brake lines and fuel lines in the vicinity - don't cut them. Have a working fire extinguisher handy when you perform this.
