For the first time since the ceasefire took effect in June, IDF forces operated deep in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday night in a bid to collapse a tunnel located 250 meters from the border. During the operation Palestinian gunmen alerted to the soldiers presence arrived on the scene and a fierce gunbattle ensued in which six Hamas terrorists were killed three IDF soldiers were moderately wounded. The IDF successfully destroyed the tunnel, which terror groups intended to use for kidnapping Israeli soldiers. 11/05/08
