Professor Johnson and The Mind Destroying Love
Professor Johnson longed to see his daughter happy again, after the death of his wife in one of his less well thought out experiments she had cried endlessly. One night he found a planet that sustained life very similar to Earth. He watched the alien race for some time, paying particular attention to one of the females, soon enough he had fallen in love and decided that a new mother for his daughter would be the answer to his prayers. He built a rocket so that he could go and woo his alien bride. Unfortunately, he forgot that the images he was seeing left the alien planet billions of years ago and that , although he would not age in his cryogenic sleep tank, everybody on Earth would. Upon landing on the alien world he found that the planet had died a long time ago. A sudden fear took hold and he set off on the long journey back to Earth. His daughter was of course long dead and gone, forced to live out the rest of her life with no parents
