How to Reduce Clutter in Kids' Room

How to Reduce Clutter in Kids' Room - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. Some tips that I have for organizing your kids' bedroom would be to make sure that everything has been sorted through. You want to go through their closets, make sure that there are not any clothes that are too small for them. If there are clothes that are maybe hand me downs, those should be separated from the clothes that they are wearing right now. So go ahead and put those in bins and put them up in the closet, and make sure to label them so you know what age category you can pull them down, or what size you can pull them down. You want to make sure that the child is involved in the process with you as well. If you are sorting through their toys and making decisions as far as what could go, what should stay, then involve them for at least a little portion of it, so they can take some pride in knowing that they are giving toys away to help other kids. Maybe you are going to be sending those to a donation facility in your area, or maybe even to a shelter where kids do not have toys to play with like theirs. And then one of the best things that I can recommend is when you are containerizing things for them, use different colors, so that they can associate, okay, Barbie dolls go in this pink bin, or maybe their balls go into this blue bin. And then also put labels on them. If your child is not able to read yet, then put picture labels. It is the best way for them to make the connections between what goes where. And then at the end of the day you are teaching them the tools and tricks that you would like to know for when you are organizing. They can help you at the end of the day. Turn it into a game. Have them help you put items away and then that way their room will stay clean and clear, and then, you can relax at the end of the day as well.
