PDS Plate

After experiencing massive trauma to the nose, a young patient is provided with a new nasal structure with the help of Dr. Steven J. Pearlman. Using a PDS plate, he reconstructed the patient’s septum after injury. Due to his shattered cartilage in the septum, the patient started snoring at night and was left with a saddle nose deformity. Although the PDS plate has been used in Europe for many years, it is newly approved for use in the United States. Six months after surgery, the young boy is able to breathe better, avoid snoring, and no longer has a deformed nasal appearance. If you have undergone a nose injury that may require reconstruction, be sure to contact Dr. Pearlman to learn more about your options.
