How to Keep Your Refrigerator Organized - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. So, sometimes you go into your refrigerator and dig into the back and you find something and you go, how long has this been in here? You can taste it if you wish, if you are gutsy enough or you can look at it. If it does not look like it is spoiled, it may still be OK. But, for me, when it is in doubt, I usually throw it out because it is not worth getting sick. When you are putting things in the refrigerator, always have them sealed. They can be in baggie. You need all your vegetables and fruits on the upper shelves and all your meats and anything that is not cooked on the bottom shelves. You do not want them dripping down into your other foods and spoiling them. Date everything so, if you are not sure what it is. So and so soup and we made it on this date, put it in there. And in your refrigerator, usually people have their eggs in the door. That is not really the ideal situation for an egg. The door is the part that opens and closes constantly and it is the warmest part of the refrigerator. Really, the eggs should be on your shelf on the top, keeping them nice and cool. And any milk, as well. You do not want your milk to spoil. Those are two very delicate things and those are my tips on how to keep your refrigerator organized.
