Pins will be screwed into the vertebral bodies and used to open up the collapsed disc space to regain normal inter-vertebral space height and alignment. The diseased inter-vertebral disc will be removed. Then the vertebral body endplates will be prepared for the graft. Then the metal or plastic cage will be inserted.
