Cervical Spine Interbody Vertebral Fusion with cage orthopeadic videos. Any anterior vertebral body bone spurs (also known as lipping or osteophytes) will be trimmed to increase access. Pins will be screwed into the vertebral bodies and used to open up the collapsed disc space to regain normal inter-vertebral space height and alignment. The diseased inter-vertebral disc will be removed. Then the vertebral body endplates will be prepared for the graft. Then the metal or plastic cage will be inserted. X-rays will be used to check the position of the cage. The muscles will be replaced and the wound closed with sutures. The expectations of an interbody fusion are shown in this orthopeadic video -
