Soy Milk Vs. Regular Milk

Soy Milk Vs. Regular Milk - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. When it comes to milk, it can be hard to figure out which product to use. There are pros and cons to both soy milk and regular milk. If you do not digest dairy well, then of course you are not going to want to drink a cows' milk. However soy milk is a highly processed product, so you want to be careful to type of soy milk that you get. You want to make sure that the soy beans that are making the milk are not genetically modified, there is a huge big deal when it comes to buying soy in the US. I also like some of the other milk alternatives, like almond milk, hemp milk, rice milk, some of the other milks that are a little less processed than soy. However for some people, doing a cows' milk is important because they need more vitamin D and they also need more calcium from actual cows' milk. So when you are buying cows' milk, main thing you want to do is make sure that it is organic. You do not want to be digesting the hormones and the antibiotics that are often fed to cows these days in big dairy farms to keep them healthy. It really depends on your body, which type of milk is right for you. But in general, I encourage my clients to get their nutrition from fruits, vegetables, grains and good healthy fats, as well as some good protein whether that is animal or non. And let the milk be a little side item that you have every once in a while.
