Drag Coursing
Drag coursing, in which dogs chase an artificial plastic lure, eliminates the hare suffering associated with live hare coursing.

Every coursing season in Ireland, hares suffer the stress of being removed from their habitats, thrown into boxes and confined in enclosures for weeks and months.

During coursing, hares suffer the fear of running for their lives in front of greyhounds. The hares that are hit suffer life-threatening internal injuries. Among the injuries are broken bones and dislocated hips. Hares may also die from stress-related capture myopathy, days and weeks after re-release back to the wild.

The footage in this video was filmed in the US.
