Reducing Stress During an Interview - Interview Tips - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. Interviewing can be a stressful proposition for many candidates. Here are some of the things that I like to recommend that my clients do to reduce their anxiety going into the interview. First of all, know where you are going ahead of time. If you can go on a test drive to the location, that in itself means that you are going to be less worried about it, because you are going to be familiar with the route that you take to the interview. Remember that this is not an interrogation, it is a collaboration. You are not there to settle yourself into a job that is not a good fit, you are there to uncover their problems, and if you are a good person to solve those problems, you are there to help them. So if you think about yourself in a helping role, and not in a needing role, that is going to go a long way to reducing the anxiety that you have about them needing to like you or needing to hire you. The truth is, all you need to do is think of this as a business meeting like any other business meeting that you have been on, and think about how you can help them solve the problems that they are having.
