Serbian filmmaker Emir Kusturica made Chevalier at Cannes

Serbian director Emir Kusturica has described the Cannes Film Festival as the world's most important stage for discovering world cinema. The remarks came as the director -- who is leading this year's jury for the "Un Certain Regard" selection -- was awarded one of France's highest artistic honours by being made a Chevalier in the French Légion d'Honneur.
