The pilots strike of India's national carrier keeps passengers frustrated. The solution seems nowhere in sight, as it enters its eighth day.

The Air India pilot strike enters its eighth day on Wednesday. Passengers all across the country continue to suffer with no end in sight.

Passengers on cancelled flights say the strike has adversely affected their work.

[Rajiv Kapoor, Stranded Passenger, Mumbai]:
"I have been affected by this strike because I was trying to come back from Calcutta and I had to cancel my Air India booking."

The strike comes right at the peak summer season.

[Karanail Singh, Stranded Passenger, New Delhi]:
"At times passengers are surprised to know that their flights have been cancelled and they do not have a place to stay or they have to go back home."

The standoff began when more than 660 pilots of the Indian Commercial Pilots Association went on an indefinite strike last Wednesday, demanding better pay.

The row between the pilots and management of Air India boiled over on Sunday.

Pilots blame the Air India's chairman for heavy financial losses.

The pilots also want an inquiry launched to investigate corruption and mismanagement in the Air India administration.

The protesting pilots have refused to return to work, ignoring a stern warning and New Delhi's High Court initiating contempt proceedings against them.

The airline has reduced the number of flights by 30 to 40 percent.
