Having recently participated in Selfridges' Bright Young Things project in February 2011, Central Saint Martins MA graduate Shao Yen Chen is presenting the second collection under his womenswear label Shao Yen at The BFC Exhibition at London Fashion Week A/W11. With inspirations from the elegant, mysterious, and powerful goddesses from the East and West, Shao Yen replaces the soft lines of drapes and pleats that often associate with the classic image of goddess with the cording technique and transforms these soft lines into more graphic, relief-like contours. Carefully blended with Swarovski crystals and voluminous fur, Shao Yen's A/W11 collection presents an eclectic lineup that sets him ready for a new departure.
