For one former dancer who saw Shen Yun Performing Arts in Edmonton, Canada, the show almost brought her to tears several times. She says the show touches your heart and your soul. Here's this report from NTD's Edmonton bureau.
Monica Bernicki, a former ballet dancer, saw Shen Yun Performing Arts in Edmonton, Canada.
[Monica Bernicki, Former Ballet Dancer]:
“So sitting back and watching the dancers is so emotional. I just about cried three times…It’s the best show that I’ve ever seen. It touches your heart. It touches your soul. It’s incredible.”
Shen Yun presents 5000 years of Chinese culture, through Chinese classical dance.
[Monica Bernicki, Former Ballet Dancer]:
“And I always want to clap before everybody else and I don’t know why. It’s probably because I’m following it. I was a dancer so I can understand it more….Great show. Everybody was in tune with each other and it’s the story behind it that means so much.”
Shen Yun also has a live orchestra with both western and Chinese instruments.
