Science of Stillness Logo Animation

We tried an approach that was a bit more aggressive by moving a camera around in 3d space so we were looking at the text close up. The drop fell from the top of the screen and hit the text towards the middle of the screen. We abandoned that idea, and went with this second approach from the client. We added some subtle motion to the brushed rings that make up the “o.” We also added some ripple waves on the text. Excellent sound design by “the Human.” Technical: We used the “ripple” effect on the text. We key framed the radius and wave height overtime to fade it out. Most of the work on this animation was separating out the 150 odd layers that made up the blue “o.” Once we had them separated out into a dozen or so layers we gave them a simple rotation over time.
