I was at the Consumer Electronics Show last week where I decided to film a quick episode to lay out a bit of information on heart rate training. I was helping out Scosche Industries http://www.scosche.com demonstrate their new Scosche myTREK. At CES, I rode a bike and gave demonstrations on the pulse rate monitor that syncs up with an iphone or ipod touch. Heart rate tracking is important for many reasons while you are working out. As your heart rate goes up, you burn different fuels. Low heart rate zones equal high percentages of fat burning, while higher zones equal lower fat burning %, yet higher glycogen/sugar burning zones along with high energy phosphates (ATP, Creatine Phosphate) while in your highest zones. With the Scosche myTREK, you can track all these zones and make sure you are in the exact one you want to be in.
