PubCon LV 2010: Nathaniel Broughton: Google Search ...
Nathaniel Broughton, president at Growth Partner, sat down with PubCon video content producer Vanessa Zamora to discuss how he got an early start in the search industry when he replied to an ad in the paper to work for a ticket broker firm during his freshman year of college. Broughton soon found himself learning online marketing as the company grew into a $22 million per year success, and he quickly worked his way into the role of Marketing Director at a young age. Over the years search engine optimization has evolved significantly, Broughton shared, while ranking well in search engine results has become increasingly difficult as competition continues to grow. Broughton, who spoke on the topic of domains at PubCon Las Vegas 2010, suggested people look at domains from a marketing perspective including doing research on Google search suggestion results to determine what additional domains to purchase to get an extra result in the search listings related to the primary domain as well as to drive leads. Buying domains that are highly searched terms related to a primary domain help with reputation management and serve as tertiary lead generation, Broughton added.
