Pizza Carbonara at Luella in San Francisco, CA - Funktified

Dan Vaillancourt stops in San Francisco, CA to shoot a special episode of Funktified Food with Chef Chris Wong at Luella where he learns how to make one of his favorite pizzas at one of his favorite restaurants in the country. Pizza carbonara is based on pasta carbonara, an Italian pasta dish containing eggs, cheese, cured pork and black pepper.

We were lucky to have Matthew Pinna, a Luella employee, foodie and aspiring filmmaker, handle the camera for this episode. Please excuse the extra kitchen noise... Don't forget, we were taping in a working kitchen!

Luella is a warm neighborhood restaurant in the Russian Hill area of San Francisco. Chris Wong and co-chef and partner Ben DeVries have been combining Italian, French and American flavors to create a modern California cuisine since 2004.
