Footballer and alleged love cheat Ashley Cole says he is glad he has stayed with his club Chelsea FC.
Earlier this year there were talks the 29-year-old left-back might sign a contract with Real Madrid, managed by his former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.
Cole went through a public battle due to criticism of his attitude following England's World Cup exit as well as his split from ex-wife Cheryl Cole.
In an interview with ITN the footballer revealed that at the time 'he didn't want to stay in England', and it had more to do with his private situation than suggestions he wanted to be reunited with Mourinho.
"It was nothing to do with Madrid, I just wanted to get out of England and enjoy my life somewhere else."
But Cole thinks he has made the right decision, adding: "I am enjoying it".
