CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The Coast Guard helped salvage a fishing vessel taking on water Wednesday, near South Padre Island on Wednesday October 6, 2010. Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi received a call from the fishing vessel Stone Mountain reporting that they were taking on water about 30 miles northeast of South Padre Island. A total of five dewatering pumps were used on the boat. After stabilizing the fishing vessel Stone Mountain was towed into Brownsville by her sister ship.
