UFO witness contacted Tony Blair

A woman who claims to have witnessed a UFO contacted Tony Blair as she feared for the UK's security, it has been revealed.

Elaine Pratt, from Peterborough, said she saw a shining globe from her garden in the sky above Southall, west London in 1999.

"I lived on a flight path, so I knew it wasn't and aeroplane. The speed was too fast, the directions it was travelling in... I knew it wasn't a conventional aircraft", she added.

Mrs Pratt wrote to Mr Blair, who was Prime Minister at the time, describing her experience. But she feels her letter was not taken seriously.

Her letter and a response form the Ministry of Defence are contained within the latest government 'UFO files' released by the National Archives.

Despite the reply, Mrs Pratt believes the government should be doing more to investigate UFOs.

She said: "The government sent me back a letter containing a line-and-a-half. They're not interested. They really do not think there is anything serious going on in our skies when I believe there was."
