When the indie rock band the Verve Pipe announced they were releasing an album of children’s music, Stephanie Signs, RIF Coordinator for Bath (Mich.) Elementary School, saw an opportunity. Needing a theme and motivational activity for the fall 2009 book distribution, she approached the band about performing a concert to get the children fired up about reading and their RIF book distribution. With the theme Reading Is Music to Your Mind, Signs and the Verve Pipe gave the students of Bath a distribution to remember.
