A workshop for Karachi University Visual Studies students was held at Goethe Institut last year. It was conducted by German film maker Till Passow, who is an award winning documentary maker. The objective of the workshop was to shoot the traffic scene of Karachi through a cell phone. Everyone was given a Nokia N-95 to shoot with. Cell phone films is a whole new genre that produces films that are more content and concept specific. The films were then taken to other countries for screening, similar workshops were done in other countries as well. Red Alert won first prize in the competition here and the prize by the way was the N-95. yay =)
