South of Albany Station we witness two northbound trains on the Empire Corridor, 49-the Lake Shore Limited, and Empire train 235. As the trains approach the crossing; you can hear the gates coming down but there is no bell to listen to. Tonights 49 had 3 Sleepers for the trip to Chicago. Since the Crescent, Sliver Star, Sliver Meteor, Lake Shore Limited run with the same trainsets. 49 was going about over 90 MPH while 235 was nearly at track speed. At about 110 MPH. Listen to the Doppler effect as both trains pass. On 235, the engine's ditch lights are flashing at the same time rather then the regular way.
