They are protesting against attacks on Indians in Australia.

They are demanding that the Indian Prime Minister talk to Australian authorities and figure out a way to end the violence.

[Paramjit Singh Pamma, Protest Leader]:
"We will continue with our protest if anyone attacks any religious sites or Indians anywhere. The National Akali Dal will not keep quiet. With all due respect to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, we ask him to hold talks with the Australian government to put an end to all these attacks and if it does not then we will prevent any Australian official or minister, from visiting India."

Ministers from Australia came to India in 2009 with assurances that steps were being taken to stop the attacks.

However in the latest incident in Australia, an Indian cab driver was attacked by drunks early on Friday morning.
