00:04A loss have endured one of the toughest weeks in their recent history, losing to their bitter
00:14rivals Lille in the Northern Derby and then suffering a record loss in the Champions League
00:22here a few days ago against Como in recent weeks in Ligue 1 which has pushed them back up the
00:30table
00:30and a fine victory in European competition during the week
00:39Marseille not in their usual colors this evening starting on the front foot
00:44and the atmosphere in this stadium is a little bit different to what we usually see here
00:49The stadium is full as ever but the Lens fans understandably are not especially in the mood to make a
00:57lot of noise at the moment
00:58I think they're going to wait and see if the team can give them a lift
01:06Really interesting to see that the under pressure Lens coach Yannick Kausak has brought a couple of veteran players into
01:14the team tonight
01:14Marseille though have taken the lead with less than 90 seconds played a horrible mix-up at the back for
01:22Lens
01:25and if they were hoping that tonight would be a fresh start well things go from bad to worse
01:29a shake of the head for Yannick Kausak the coach
01:36it is already 1-0 from Marseille and it is a gift from the lost defense and how many times
01:42have we said that
01:43in the last few days a simple back pass for Jonathan Grady
01:50and Samson Baidu wasn't expecting it Robert Rieser wasn't even paying attention
01:54and Amin Gwiri gets another early goal
01:58on target again
02:02Lens nil Marseille won what about that for a start to this match
02:07players watching on from the bench this evening some of them who started during the week and were dropped from
02:13the team tonight
02:17here's Sotoka the veteran
02:18for Florian Thauvin looking to cut it back from the byline
02:22and he has at least won his team
02:24the first corner kick of the game
02:26Sotoka to Thauvin
02:29came off the knee of Jeffrey de Lange the Marseille goalkeeper
02:32the ankle in fact
02:34this is Mathieu Udol with the cross
02:36good delivery and it was attacked really well
02:39by Thauvin
02:41thumbs up from him
02:48getting up
02:49gifted a chance here perhaps
02:53slap header back the way
02:54ball falling to Thorgan Hazard
02:59Thauvin
03:00the drop of the shoulder
03:01selfishly perhaps trying the shot
03:03comes out for the
03:04effort from range from Thudibault
03:07Thauvin once more everybody back from Marseille
03:09have the early advantage they can afford to
03:12try and soak up the pressure and hit the home team on the break
03:14it's a good cross in
03:16and header from Mathieu Udol is why
03:17that's a lot better from Lens
03:23some cause for optimism perhaps for their
03:26suffering supporters
03:40will be an in swinger this time from Thauvin
03:45right on top of Jeffrey de Lange who collects it
03:52Jonathan Gruddy trying to make up for
03:54great rivals of Lens
03:56in this part of the country
03:58and having qualified them for the
04:00Champions League he decided to
04:02move to Marseille start a new adventure
04:05walked into a very difficult job
04:07Marseille
04:08selling some of their
04:10top players
04:11biggest earners
04:12Garcia with the ball in
04:13might just fall here for Paysha
04:14who controls
04:16thinks about the shot
04:17and in the end
04:18slips it wide of the post
04:20as
04:21Marseille substitutes Lucon
04:22thumbs up from Paysha
04:23to Thauvin
04:24on the right
04:26Thauvin
04:26the former Marseille player
04:31inside
04:33for Titrawi
04:34and Sotokar pounces on that
04:37Florian Sotokar
04:38good cross
04:39Thauvin
04:39header
04:39it's 1-1
04:41that's much more like it from Lens
04:46and as much as you can of course
04:48criticize the way in which they lost that early goal
04:50you have to salute the way that they've responded
04:53to falling behind
05:01Florian Thauvin leading by example
05:04Florian Sotokar the veteran
05:05leading by example
05:06to
05:07pouncing on that loose ball
05:09in between
05:10several Marseille defenders
05:12who weren't reactive enough
05:13takes out a really good cross
05:15and Thauvin attacks it brilliantly
05:17albeit he is completely unmarked
05:19at the near post
05:22and the player who recently
05:29a free kick given for the challenge
05:32by Jonathan Grady
05:39shaping up for a really good game
05:44free kick coming in
05:45trying to surprise
05:47Robert Rieser
05:51the player who
05:52is a very influential member of the squad
05:55in the dressing room
05:56in that great season he had last year
05:58but hardly ever started a game
05:59well he's starting tonight
06:02Torgan Azar
06:03giving it to Sotokar
06:04lays it back
06:05for the shot
06:06from Titaoui
06:06from the edge of the box
06:08never really caught hold
06:09of any Algerian
06:12Noi Paisao
06:18nearly again
06:20for Marseille
06:21well this is
06:24remarkable
06:27cross coming in
06:28and the touch by Guiri
06:30off the crossbar
06:41Launce showed that great reaction
06:43they don't want to fall asleep again
06:44they've conceded the corner
06:48on the coaching staff
06:49he had previously brought back
06:51to Launce in the summer
06:51he'd been the assistant coach
06:52at Lorient
06:54in Brittany last season
06:55doing a terrific job there
06:56alongside Olivier Pontelloni
06:59he's now
07:00the number one
07:01that means he is in the firing line
07:05as Marseille
07:06win a free kick
07:09with the goal
07:10from the player
07:11on the ball here
07:12Amin Guiri
07:13Paisao
07:14looking to get it back
07:15from Harry
07:16just didn't quite come off
07:17from Marseille
07:19Guiri again
07:19pulling the trigger
07:20the shot blocked
07:21falls to Udo
07:25and that loss
07:26on the break
07:27with Sotokar
07:28Florio Sotokar
07:29he's got Torgan Azar
07:30running up alongside him
07:31Sotokar might go
07:32all the way himself here
07:33tried to set up Touba
07:37Marseille have another corner
07:41and Ruben Guiri
07:44organising his defence
07:51third corner kick off the half
07:53for Marseille
07:59Harit takes it
08:01the outswinging delivery
08:02he's going to come out
08:03Paisao
08:04still alive here
08:05Amdeli
08:06hooking it back
08:07towards goal
08:09Amdeli
08:10side midway through
08:10last season
08:12didn't make a big impression
08:13looking for loss
08:18Toban looking for Sotokar
08:19he's going to keep this in play
08:20Florian Sotokar
08:21set up the equalising goal
08:23he's got Amadou Aydara
08:24arriving at the edge of the box
08:26flights the cross in
08:27right to Abdul Hamid
08:29he tries the shot
08:32it's off target
08:33from the Saudi Arabian
08:35all the other players
08:37who departed
08:38his experience in the midfield
08:39is precious for them
08:41here's De Lange
08:42here
08:43oh Paisao has given that away
08:45great chance for Lawson
08:47the save
08:48from De Lange
08:49to Danai Titaoui
08:52well we saw Giff
08:54at the other end of the opening
08:55seconds of this match
08:56Paisao
08:57handing that one on the plate
08:59to Yacine Titaoui
09:00but he shot straight at De Lange
09:02it's a good stop
09:03might say
09:04substitutes
09:05watching on
09:07we are into the second
09:08of two added minutes
09:09then at the end of the half
09:10throwing on Toba
09:10swinging ball
09:13as far as Aydara
09:16got that one all wrong
09:17high and wide
09:17from Amadou Aydara
09:22well he had to score
09:23he went for power
09:24right down the middle
09:25rather than
09:26lots of football still
09:27to be played tonight
09:28Marseille
09:29with the free kick
09:30Hoi Pierre
09:31lofting it forwards
09:37away by Azar
09:38and the halftime whistle goes
09:39and it's been a thoroughly absorbing game of football
09:43started in the worst possible fashion for Lange
09:47but they have come back from that really well
09:49Amin Guiri second minute opener from Marseille
10:07at home this season
10:09as we get underway in the second half
10:12of course one of those was that horrible night here against Como on Wednesday
10:16it's impossible to avoid the subject
10:19it's a loss to Lorient
10:20in the league
10:21and to Sporting
10:22in the Champions League too
10:26we need to make this place a real fortress again
10:32just three losses here
10:35in the whole of last season
10:39they won every other game
10:42played at home
10:44under Pierre Saaj
10:45last season
10:47Abdul Hamid
10:48the edge of the penalty box
10:49lays it back for the shot
10:50and Titawi trying his luck again
10:53but
10:53De Lange saves low down
10:56he should have scored at the end of the first half
10:58that was a much harder chance
10:59it was probably just going wide anyway
11:03Maidara's lost
11:03that was a bit slow to react to that
11:05this is Abdelhi from Marseille
11:07Paixão
11:08Igor Paixão
11:09with the shot
11:09lets fly
11:10it took a deflection
11:14probably should have done better there
11:16the Brazilian
11:20see it from this angle
11:24does graze the back of
11:26the long defender
11:27Jonathan Grady
11:28but
11:28I think it was going over anyway
11:30here's Amin Guiri
11:31scored a brilliant goal
11:32from this position in midweek
11:33lays it off that time for the shot
11:35and Tocukwu Nadi
11:37fires it over
11:38and Tocukwu Nadi
11:510
12:12here is Weyer
12:16to get it back from Amin Arit
12:18Weyer continuing his run
12:22Weyer's high
12:24hanging cross
12:25Paixão
12:25brings it down
12:26Paixão
12:27is overhead
12:28it would have been
12:29quite the spectacular goal
12:40all tonight
12:41all tonight
12:50Garcia
12:51cross in
12:52hung up by Roman Reza
13:01and Tocukwu Nadi
13:03to touch it on
13:04blocked by the hand
13:06of the last player
13:07but the referee
13:08allowed play to continue
13:09and he's now given a free kick
13:10to the home team
13:11Bruno Genesio
13:12doesn't agree with any of that
13:13he's just kicked the ball away
13:15in frustration
13:16on the touch line
13:17a rye smile from
13:18Nayef Aguarde
13:20Targon Hazard
13:21just looking to
13:23hold it up
13:24and then spoiling the run
13:25of the veteran
13:27Sotoka on the far side
13:28he's 36 now
13:29Florian Sotoka
13:30it's a great ball in
13:30from him though
13:32from the veteran
13:33looking for the runner
13:34Mathieu Udol
13:36usually it would be Udol
13:38supplying the cross himself
13:39but what about that
13:40for a sprint forward
13:41from his own half
13:42for Mathieu Udol
13:43into the centre forward position
13:47Sotoka with a good cross
13:48Udol not really able
13:49to make the connection
13:53Nigerian midfielder
13:55not too many opportunities
13:56to impress
13:57in the starting line-up
13:59but he's
14:00on his team
14:02a very dangerous
14:04free kick here
14:05and they're queuing up
14:06to take this
14:08Mubia walking away
14:10it's going to be
14:11either Harit
14:12on his right foot
14:13or Elise Garcia
14:14on his left
14:16it is Harit
14:18and it's way too high
14:19from the Moroccan international
14:38challenge by Garcia
14:39on Abdul Hamid
14:47good first time crossing
14:49Egan Riley with a really important touch
14:51to get it away
14:55raised the noise levels around the stadium again
14:58this bitterly cold
15:00Sunday night in November
15:06past
15:07past
15:07ten o'clock at night
15:09near the north of France
15:11here's Gwiri again
15:16challenge coming in on there
15:17I mean Gwiri
15:30Grady
15:31here is
15:32Meslou
15:37player from a footballing family
15:40his dad played here
15:44ball into the middle
15:47Udall
15:49in the north of France tonight
15:51Marseille on the offensive
15:52Abtala
15:53trying to play the pass
15:55to Weyer
15:55Weyer brought down
15:56on the edge of the box
15:57and we have the first
15:58yellow card of the evening
16:00Timothy Weyer
16:01another former Lille player
16:02up against
16:03L'Anse this evening
16:04Titrawi
16:08was clearly pulling
16:09on the shirt of Weyer
16:10that was blatant
16:12from the
16:13L'Anse midfielder
16:17strange old season
16:18for Marseille of course
16:20they beat Strasbourg 4-0
16:21on the opening night
16:23of the campaign
16:24that had five straight losses
16:27four in the league
16:28plus
16:294-1
16:30thumping away
16:31to Besiktas
16:32in the Europa League
16:35club in crisis
16:36when they went into
16:37the last international break
16:40bounce back from that
16:41pretty spectacularly
16:43here they come again
16:44Marseille looking to grab
16:45a winner
16:46Guiri should have scored
16:47but it has been turned in
16:49at the back post
16:55and the Marseille players
16:57go across to celebrate
16:58with the travelling fans
16:59it was Abdallah
17:00who got the last touch
17:05after Guiri passed up
17:08the golden opportunity
17:09to score his second
17:10of the game
17:15and maybe it is going to be
17:17another defeat
17:18for Yannick Coussak
17:19in L'Anse
17:19the L'Anse coach
17:20shakes his head
17:22Angel Gomez
17:23and Paisao
17:24combining
17:24Guiri had to score
17:26Abdallah did
17:32Guiri denied
17:33by the Baidu block
17:34but it's the 20 year old
17:36Kylian Abdallah
17:37who tucks in
17:38his second goal
17:40of the season
17:42he scored
17:43on the opening night
17:43of the campaign
17:44against Strasbourg
17:45and he's done it again
17:46here
17:46what a big goal
17:47that is
17:49we're going to have to
17:51walk their way
17:51out of this situation
17:53but
17:55we're going to have
17:56a long couple of weeks
17:57before they play
17:57their next game
17:58at home to Toulouse
17:59on the 21st of November
18:01maybe there's still time
18:02to grab an equaliser
18:03here's Kadhil
18:04it's a good ball
18:05Abdul Hamid
18:06couldn't really get
18:07any proper connection
18:08on that
18:09Marseille trying to
18:10scramble it away
18:11Cuisance
18:12Mesloub
18:13Lille not having a great time
18:14in the Champions League
18:15like Lens
18:16but doing very well
18:17in Ligue 1
18:19only lost a late goal
18:20even if Lille were
18:21worthy winners
18:22maybe that a late goal
18:23beats them tonight
18:24against the resurgent
18:25Marseille
18:26and Comor
18:27a very good team too
18:29Angel Gomez
18:30into the side netting
18:33of course
18:33it's the manner
18:34of the performances
18:34that is
18:36the real concern
18:37Cuisance lost out there
18:39Gomez
18:40stoppage time
18:43it's going to be
18:44four minutes
18:45probably starting now
18:49free kick from
18:50Pau Shaolin
18:51on the roof of the net
19:00the loss need to hurry up
19:07there is the full-time whistle
19:08Marseille have won here in Lens tonight
19:11it's been a brilliant week for them
19:12and their resurgence continues
19:16as they climb all the way up to fourth
19:18in the Ligue 1 table
19:19but the boos around the stadium
19:21tell another story
19:22a horrible week for Lens
19:26massive three points
19:27on the roll for the visitors
19:28who come into
19:29one of the toughest environments
19:31in French football
19:32while they walked away
19:33with a handful of two
19:35one victory
19:35Lens
19:37well they gave absolutely everything
19:38in front of their home supporters
19:39yet at the end
19:40Maseye showed the quality
19:42the character
19:42and of course
19:43the determination
19:44now it's three points in the back
19:45another victory for Maseye
19:46and the momentum continues to build
19:47for this team
19:48and on the other hand
19:49of course Lens
19:50it's a disappointing afternoon
19:51but for the visitors
19:52it's another important step forward
19:54in the Ligue 1 campaign
19:55from Ceph Oler de Lally
19:56the final score is Lens 1
19:58big Maseye 2
19:59now
20:00problem
20:00problem here with Lens
