00:19with Moscow. Russian strikes on the Kyiv region overnight left six people injured and damaged a
00:26bridge and energy facilities, according to authorities. Kyiv's mayor said the attacks
00:32affected the operation of heating and water supply systems in the city, adding that Kyiv's
00:37northern bridge was closed to traffic in both directions as specialists assessed damage to the
00:42structure. President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia launched 36 ballistic missiles and 172 drones,
00:50causing power cuts in five regions, adding that Russia had used North Korean missiles to target
00:55energy facilities. Meanwhile, a recovery operation continued into its sixth day in the southern
01:02village of Komeshuvaka, devastated on Monday when multiple Russian guided bombs struck a former school
01:08as residents waited for humanitarian aid. Emergency services said they had recovered nine more bodies,
01:14bringing the death toll to 55. Negotiators from Russia, Ukraine and the U.S. are set to meet on
01:21Tuesday in Abu Dhabi for talks aimed at ending the war, the fourth round of negotiations brokered by
01:26the Trump administration. European leaders have firmly rejected any attempt by the United States and
01:35Russia to reshape the continent's security architecture without their involvement. It follows
01:41President Donald Trump's suggestion that Washington could be nearing a sweeping agreement with Moscow,
01:47something he calls, quote, a very big deal involving not only Ukraine but all of Europe. The move has
01:55raised fresh concerns that the U.S. administration could be moving towards a security arrangement that
02:01accommodates Russian President Vladimir Putin's long-standing demands at the expense of European
02:07interests. We cannot say how and when Ukraine and Russia will strike a peace deal. We can say what it
02:14needs to be put into effect. Any agreement in order to be implemented will require European Union to be
02:24part of it. The diplomatic disagreement comes as the Trump administration intensifies efforts to bring
02:30an end to the war in Ukraine with U.S. representatives preparing for renewed negotiations between
02:36Kiev and Moscow in Abu Dhabi next week. French unions and student groups have taken to the streets again
02:45for another Saturday of protest over the rising cost of living. The demonstrations follow weeks of
02:52youth-led unrest and nationwide strikes which brought hundreds of thousands of workers out. In Paris, the
03:06people gathered at Place de la Concorde, most without the movement's trademark high-visibility vests,
03:12but they were quickly surrounded by riot police. According to reports, two figures from the movement
03:18were arrested in front of the National Assembly. By Saturday afternoon, the Interior Minister's Office
03:24reported 7,000 people in 68 protests across the country, excluding Paris, a sharp decline compared with 15,000
03:34in 65 protests last Saturday.
03:41The EU warned TikTok on Friday that it must change the harmful design of its personalized
03:47for-you feed or risk large fines under the bloc's digital rules, the Digital Services Act or DSA,
03:54after finding preliminary evidence of violations.
03:57Because TikTok's personalized feed shows content that causes harm if viewed in repetition.
04:04Self-harm videos, body image, weight loss, depressing content. The longer and more you engage with such
04:13content, the more TikTok will show it to you. This pulls users into harmful loops of content,
04:21the so-called rabbit holes. This has to stop because it has an impact on users. Anxiety, sadness,
04:30lower self-esteem and mental health issues, to name just a few.
04:34TikTok has rejected the Commission's findings, saying they misrepresent how its platform works and the
04:40measures it has taken to protect users. The European Commission said TikTok had taken steps to address
04:46these risks, but they had not been effective enough, calling for further changes to the platform's design.
