00:00One factor you didn't bring up in all this, but the rest of the country is talking a lot about,
00:03is the president.
00:04He's got a 20% approval rating in this state.
00:07You never really distanced yourself from him in a major way, at least.
00:10Was that a mistake?
00:11Did you think that people were willing to hear your message, given that you were endorsed by an incredibly unpopular
00:17president?
00:18Yeah, no, it's no question.
00:19I mean, that's, I think, what we mean when we talk about the political environment.
00:25And honestly, I'll answer your question very honestly.
00:28I don't think that there's anything that could have been done in terms of political positioning that would have brought
00:38us to the point where we could actually win this election.
00:41But you now see what's happened, the state of opinion in the country.
00:45I don't think that there's anything that could have been done on that front.
00:50And the reason that, you know, as you've heard, we've had that conversation all along.
00:57And the point that I always made is that I focus on policy and specifics rather than position.
01:06And so when you've asked me, Ben and others, what's the, you know, are there specific things where you disagree
01:13with the president and the administration?
01:15I've said those things and now, I mean, honestly, now's not the time to repeat those things.
01:20They're relatively unimportant in the overall context of what we're talking about here.
01:26For example, you see funding or the 2020 election as a list of things, policy things.
01:30I think an overall statement one way or the other wouldn't really have affected the result.
01:36I really don't think.
