hard question on The Mermaid's Tear, and EP 8 is the episode I want defended or condemned properly.
Sebastian turns on Adriana. Magnus steps in to protect his wife, and she strikes him for it. Then in EP 9 she demands he apologise to the man who attacked her.
Why would she do that? Not because she loves Sebastian more. Because if Magnus is the one who intervened, then she owes him something, and she has spent three years refusing to owe him anything.
So she protects the ex to avoid the debt. That is the ugliest kind of accounting, and it is completely human.
✨ What worked for me:
- She hits him once, and never mentions it again.
- Nobody in that house asks whether she was in danger.
✨ Bottom line: she defended the man who hurt her to avoid thanking the one who helped.
Is that pride, or is it fear?
— GSH, guilty pleasures, well served 🥂
