00:00And following the Democratic Party's sweeping victory in the midterm elections, millions
00:04of its voters are now pinning their hopes on a change in direction for the Trump administration
00:09policies.
00:10But what fueled this blue wave in the midterms and what can be expected from this democratic
00:15triumph, our New York correspondent Henry Camelo reports.
00:21The Democratic Party will have the control of both the Senate and the House of Representatives.
00:27Many hope that this balance of power will improve living conditions in the United States.
00:35What do you think the government is going to be like in the next two years?
00:41It's hard to predict, but I would hope that they try to get things done that's going to
00:46be good for the economy and good for the country.
00:49Yesterday was a huge victory for the Democratic Party.
00:53Why do you think it happened?
00:55Because Trump is a ridiculous, corrupt, idiotic jerk.
01:03And people are finally waking up to that.
01:08I believe that what Donald Trump represents, his style and his handling of the economy, amounts
01:15to a political and electoral rebuke by the citizenry.
01:19As we mentioned, people began to mobilize, in part, as a reaction to the difficulties or
01:26the failure of his economic management.
01:29Unemployment and inflation are things that Americans are not accustomed to.
01:34And Donald Trump has demonstrated that he lacks the capacity to manage the economy.
01:41Following the Republican Party's defeat, here's the emerging composition of the Senate.
01:4754 seats for the Democratic Party, 44 for the Republicans, with two seats still undecided.
01:56In the House of Representatives, 231 seats for the Democrats and 141 for the Republican Party.
02:04There are still 63 seats undecided.
02:07And with this new composition of Congress, the political landscape shifts for Donald Trump,
02:13a change that, according to analysts, could finally hold him accountable for actions taken outside
02:21of the bounds of the U.S. Constitution.
02:25I believe Trump will face isolation. Given the pragmatic nature of American politics,
02:33we will likely see, in more than a few instances, Republicans not only distancing themselves from
02:40Trump, but actively taking the opposite side or opposing him entirely. The Republican electorate
02:47already signaled this in these elections. The new Congress will be sworn in on January 3rd,
02:552027. Only then will it become clear whether the campaign promises that deliver this major victory to
03:03the Democrats will actually be fulfilled. America is back. Pablo Daniel Joe and Henry Camelo,
