How far would you go to protect your child? In this intense Law & Order: SVU courtroom scene, defense attorney Donna Emmett (Viola Davis) fights for a father who took justice into his own hands after his daughter was attacked.

But ADA Alex Cabot (Stephanie March) isn't buying the defense. While Emmett argues passionately on the father's behalf, Cabot insists that his actions were deliberate and that taking the law into his own hands must have consequences. It's a powerful courtroom clash that raises a difficult question: does a father's desire for justice excuse what he did?

Watch Law & Order: SVU on NBC and stream the next day on Peacock.
