00:00And now shifting focus, it's Diwali week and the choking season is back in the National Capital Region.
00:06Despite winter action being imposed, the pollution levels continue to rise.
00:10And if you talk about the average AQI levels, which are well above 300,
00:15despite all the restrictions that have been already imposed in the National Capital Region.
00:21The average AQI has climbed well above 300, with several areas across Delhi NCR recording levels above 400,
00:28falling in the severe category.
00:30The National Capital recorded an AQI of 334 today amid soaring pollution levels.
00:35Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa claimed that air quality in Delhi has improved significantly.
00:40He also said that the capital recorded more than 200 days of clean air this year.
00:45The centre's air quality watchdog CAQM has imposed stage 2 of the GRAP across Delhi NCR.
00:51As part of the response, the Delhi Metro will operate 20 additional trips on weekdays
00:56to encourage commuters to switch to public transport and reduce vehicular emissions.
01:00Under GRAP stage 2, restrictions include higher parking charges to discourage the use of private vehicles
01:06and tighter regulations on diesel generator sets.
01:09Authorities have also been directed to ramp up mechanical road sweeping
01:12and water sprinkling with dust suppressants to control pollution.
01:20The Delhi NCR yet again have turned into gas chamber.
01:24The air quality index has breached 300 mark and that has forced the Commission for Air Quality Management
01:28to impose norms and provisions of GRAP 2.
01:32Here we see early morning vehicular movement less.
01:35However, the air quality index at Delhi-Naira border where I am at the moment is more than 300.
01:40In parts of capital, the air quality index has breached even 400 mark.
01:44And if I take you these images, there's a hazy thick layer of the smog all around in the ambience
01:51and that explains the AQI.
01:54And over the days, as we see the northwest-bound wind towards this part
01:59will bring eventually the contribution of the residue burning, the stubble burning.
02:04At the moment, we see at border areas like Rohini, Bawana, all these areas,
02:09the AQI has even breached mark of 400 that makes it extremely severe condition.
02:14Rest part of Delhi and NCR where the AQI remains above 300 which makes it in very poor category.
02:20Under the GRAP 2 proviso, the restaurants, the hotels will not be allowed to burn wood or coal.
02:26Subsequent to that, the sucking machines by the corporation, by the civic bodies,
02:31the dust sweeping will be mandated.
02:34We also already see from November 1st, the BS6 norms have been imposed by the Delhi government.
02:39But despite of all these efforts, seems to be inadequate as we still see the AQI breaching 300 mark,
02:44making Delhi and NCR as a gas chamber.
02:47At Delhi-Naweda border, I am Acha Tosh Mishra for India.
02:49The last decade of the last decade of the last decade is 2026.
03:08The last decade of the last decade is the fastest, which has rising in the past decade is 10%
03:21under the cost of 10%.
03:22The average AQI also has been modulating.
03:25The last decade is even less, but the next decade is cleanest days.
03:28There is also the cleanest days where the maximum this year has been 220.
03:36Meanwhile, politics is also escalating between the armed party and the BJP over pollution listening.
04:05And the people who are going to fight against the war, they are going to fight against the war.
04:34Take a break.
