A massive crowd gathered at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan as the INDIA bloc mobilised cadres for a major rally addressed by Rahul Gandhi and opposition leaders. While organisers claimed an expected attendance of 10 lakh people, the venue was packed to capacity with participants arriving from various walks of life. Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched an attack on Rahul Gandhi and the INDIA bloc from Chandigarh. Shah termed the decision to hold the rally on 1st November insensitive, pointing out the date's association with the 1984 anti-Sikh violence and the impact on local wholesale traders, asserting that the opposition would face defeat in upcoming elections.

00:00On the other hand, right behind me, Ramlila Meidan, what you really see is a massive build-up of the
00:06Cader there.
00:07Anytime you will hear Rahul Gandhi and the other leaders of the India Alliance members speak.
00:13For the Congress and the India Alliance members, this would be heartening for them in terms of just the kind
00:19of Cader mobilization they've been able to manage,
00:22where they said that it's going to be 10 lakhs.
00:25Now, we don't quite know whether it's 10 lakhs, but what we can tell you is that Ramlila Meidan is
00:30chock-a-block and people continue to come out right now
00:34because they haven't been able to find space in Ramlila Meidan.
00:37A lot of people from, you know, regular walks of life also have joined in.
00:42We've been able to speak to quite a few of them.
00:47All right, I want to cut across right now to my colleague Kamaljeet Sandhu, who's joining us from Chandigarh.
00:52And Kamal, a short while ago, we heard the Home Minister launching an attack on Rahul Gandhi and the Congress
00:58from Chandigarh.
01:00Amit Shah, important because he's the one personally managing the BJP's campaign in poll-bound Punjab.
01:09Well, absolutely. It was a hard-hitting statement coming from the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah,
01:14saying the Congress and India bloc was insensitive to actually choose a day of 1st November,
01:19which he said was the day of martyrdom, as several Sikhs were massacred on that particular day.
01:25He said that several press conferences were done.
01:28But Rahul Gandhi, who was abroad at that point of time, reiterated that the member 1st will be the day
01:35of Delhi Chalo rally.
01:36He said that the other insensitive part was about how the traders, especially small traders,
01:43had pleaded time and again that they should not be doing this particular rally at this point of time
01:48because there is a lot of money at stake because this is when the North Indians really go out
01:54and purchase in large number, the wholesale market is impacted.
01:57So on multiple fronts, Amit Shah targeted not just Rahul Gandhi but also the India bloc.
02:03The message is loud and clear. He says reason for this particular behavior will make him lose another election,
02:11saying they've already lost three elections in the past,
02:13but Rahul Gandhi should be prepared now to sit in the opposition for the next five years.
02:17So coming in the annual Punjab polls, which is scheduled for 2027, a big message coming from the Union Home
02:24Minister.
02:25And remember, BJP has been targeting again and again saying,
02:29you know, we put those behind bars who were a part of the anti-sikh riots in 1984.
02:36And we ensured that justice would be given. We gave the compensation.
02:40Meanwhile, the Congress has only been insensitive from talking about way back when Rajiv Gandhi had made that particular statement
02:48about
02:49when a big tree shakes, the earth shakes.
02:53And this is where they says Rahul Gandhi would have been very young when that particular instance happened.
02:58But we tried to put that message across very publicly via press conferences.
03:02But meanwhile, Congress remained adamant.
03:04So in a highly charged atmosphere, where this particular rally is a show of strength for the India bloc,
03:11a big statement coming in from the Union Home Minister targeting Rahul Gandhi directly.
03:20All right. All right. Okay.
