Vendors sell local delicacies such as bingka, masi and budbod, along with dried tobacco and lomboy leaves as Cebuanos shop for items to include in their Undas offerings.
Known as “halad” in parts of the Visayas and Mindanao, the offerings are arranged on tables with food and drinks once enjoyed by departed loved ones.
The tradition is usually observed during dinner, when families set out the offerings and light candles on the table and at their doorsteps, while other family members visit cemeteries to light candles for the dead.
