00:01Welcome to TNF Nightcap presented by Allstate.
00:06And these Bears fans are fired up.
00:09Joined now by Caleb Williams and Luther Burden.
00:12And gentlemen, first of all, thank you.
00:14We so appreciate you jumping up here after a nice win.
00:18Caleb, first Bears quarterback with 300 pass yards and back-to-back games since 2018.
00:23I know you don't care about any of that. What you care about is the win.
00:26But this is also your first game back in front of your home crowd since leaving with the injury.
00:30How did this one feel?
00:32Yeah, it felt great. Being able to be back with the guys.
00:35Being able to be back out here in front of our fans.
00:38We travel well. They show up in home games.
00:43They've been loyal. They've been supportive.
00:45And we want to keep making them proud. I want to keep making them proud.
00:48And so, you know, appreciate them and appreciate my teammates and everybody else.
00:53Yeah, Caleb, I want to talk about, you know, obviously, so you're out this time during this injury.
00:57But we always say, like, seizing those opportunities to find some ways you can improve in those things.
01:01When you really look at, even though it's, you know, obviously you were playing well before.
01:04You've come back. You've been on fire still.
01:06How do you think you took advantage of some of that time to continue to work on your game and
01:10figure out things you wanted to do?
01:11Yeah, just being able to, I've spoke about it a couple of times, but just being able to watch Case
01:16and Tice, you know, work in their time that they had.
01:21You know, just how they went through their days, just how they went through all of it.
01:24You know, it was just, it was, it was big for me.
01:28Luther, incredible first half.
01:30Al Michaels called you the Beast of Burden, which I thought was a pretty cool nickname right there.
01:35But what were you seeing in that first half that allowed you to create such a big, phenomenal place?
01:41I feel like, you know, there's a lot of space and, you know, when there's a lot of space, it's
01:44going to be a problem.
01:45On that third and 17, did you, when you caught the ball, did you know you were going to be
01:48able to take it to the house right away?
01:49Yeah, sure.
01:52What are you talking about, Tony?
01:55What about in the second half, you had two huge completions to Rome and Dunsey on third down.
02:00The second one, less than five minutes left in the fourth quarter.
02:02Your ability to navigate the pocket, stay calm, stay in there and deliver the football.
02:07It seems like that continues to get better and better for you.
02:10Yeah, I think, you know, shout out to O-line, shout out to the running backs and all of them.
02:14But Rome ran a great route.
02:16My job is to deliver a good ball.
02:18And Rome made a great catch.
02:21I came to the sideline after Rome had that one drop in the P.I. on offense.
02:25And he looked at me and I told him, I'm going to come back to you.
02:29And it ended up being a big play at the end and a big play, you know, down near the
02:34red zone.
02:34Yes, sir.
02:35Hey, Luther.
02:36Yes, sir.
02:36You've been targeted 17 times this season from Caleb and you've caught all 17.
02:42What has put you guys in such great rhythm this year?
02:46I want to say shout out to the coaches, you know, for scheming it up, man, for the defense.
02:49And, you know, my job is to go out there, catch the ball and make plays.
02:52So I'm just trying to, you know, make his job easy.
02:55Caleb, your coach sends Cairo out for a 58 yard attempt, ended up being a career long for him.
03:02What does that say about your coach and this team?
03:06Yeah, that's that's who we are.
03:08I shouldn't have taken that sack in that situation.
03:11So I know we're going to have a long sit down talk about it.
03:16But, you know, other guys step up.
03:19Our defense steps up.
03:20They stepped up in the end.
03:21They stepped up, you know, for our mishaps.
03:23We step up for the defense when they mess up.
03:26A special team does the same thing for us.
03:27And so that's the type of team we are.
03:29That's that's how we support each other.
03:31I've got two burning questions.
03:33The first one, Kaylee Hartung said in between series, sometimes in between plays, you hum.
03:39Yes.
03:40What are you humming?
03:41It's just a it's not a specific song or anything.
03:44It calms everything down.
03:46It calms your parasympathetic health.
03:48I love it.
03:49What about the Joe Tooney play with the handoff?
03:53The one where you gave it to Joe.
03:54Yeah.
03:54Yeah.
03:55I know.
03:55I was excited.
03:56It was awesome.
03:57It was great.
03:58Yeah.
03:59We're going to go back and look at that and see how we can we can make that happen.
04:03I didn't know this.
04:04You had to hand it off backwards.
04:05All right.
04:06Yeah.
04:07We'll hand it to him when he pulls next time.
04:09Yeah.
04:11I just want to talk about because this game is so chaotic in Chicago has been through so
04:17much.
04:17The last time you were in this stadium, you were getting carded off for you to come back to
04:21300 yard games.
04:22I know the heart of every fan in this stadium and around the world that cheers for the Bears
04:27is like, man, another season down the drain.
04:29You go from that to another 300 yard game.
04:33Every time you guys you have been on the field, you guys have scored over 30 points.
04:37You guys have scored 59 31 30.
04:39How does it feel to like come back from that?
04:42Yeah, feels great.
04:44That time off just it added a little bit more to me, you know, and I'm gonna keep using
04:50I'm gonna keep bringing that energy that fire in my eyes.
04:53You know, I'm gonna release it to, you know, to my teammates and hopefully to the to the fans.
04:58They feel my energy and hopefully we can we can get in your top five.
05:10I had them winning this game.
05:14They make it in my top five.
05:16Caleb Luther go enjoy this one.
05:18And we so appreciate you spending a little time with us here on the desk.
05:21Absolutely.
05:21These fans also appreciate you.
05:23We appreciate y'all and appreciate everybody out there.
05:28All righty.
05:29We're not going anywhere, though.
05:31Well, I tell you what now.
05:32Thursday night football is ugly.
05:34It can get ugly.
05:36Right?
05:36There's some ups.
05:37There's some downs throughout.
05:38And yet you guys didn't waiver for one second.
05:40Stayed the course course poised.
05:43All right.
05:43Under control the entire time.
05:46Hell of a job.
05:47We knew it was gonna take 60 minutes.
05:48That's a good team now.
05:49That's a good team.
05:50Took all 60 minutes and we made a couple more plays.
05:53All right.
05:53Bring it on in.
05:53Here we go.
05:54Here we go.
05:54Here we go.
05:55You're gonna get better.
05:57You're gonna get better.
05:59You better get better.
06:00You better get better.
06:01Here's on three.
06:01One, two, three.
06:02Bears!
06:04All right.
06:05So in our name, but here's what's gonna happen.
06:07I'm gonna give you a topic from your playing day.
06:09Why do you look so confused?
06:10I'm gonna give you a topic from your playing day, okay?
06:12And there'll be three names and you have to rank them.
06:15Good, better, or best.
06:17I thought it was Mary.
06:18It's not a, yeah.
06:20But this is the family show.
06:21Okay.
06:21So Sherm, you're up first.
06:23Your favorite quarterback to pick off.
06:25Here are your options.
06:27John Skelton, Aaron Rodgers, or Tom Brady.
06:30Good, better, best.
06:31Well, well, we gotta, we gotta leave Skelton at the good.
06:34He threw me a lot of gifts.
06:35He threw me a, you know, fed my family.
06:37John Skelton, I'm thankful for you and everything you did for us.
06:40The Sherman family.
06:44You're a good man, John.
06:46Better, I'm gonna go four-time MVP, Aaron Rodgers.
06:49You know, I only got him a couple times, but it's always beautiful in an NFC Championship game.
06:53I appreciate you, A-Rod.
06:55And best, you gotta go with the, with the GOAT, Tom Brady.
07:00One of the GOATs.
07:01Yeah, one of them, you know.
07:02Where was that, where was that one?
07:03That was in, that was in Seattle, CT.
07:05You know what I mean?
07:06It was a you mad bro game.
07:07You know, people got very up in arms after that.
07:10Oh, you mad bro.
07:12Okay, wait, you're up next, buddy.
07:14Here's yours.
07:15These pass rushers you face.
07:17Good, better, best.
07:18Terrell Suggs, Nick Bosa, James Harrison.
07:21Oh, wow.
07:22Tough.
07:22Geez, I'm scared to put Deebo on this list.
07:25He might come get me.
07:27He watching?
07:27Let's see here.
07:28Yeah, he's definitely watching.
07:29I'm gonna go James Harrison, really good.
07:33I'm gonna put him in that category only because.
07:35Wait, let's look at Sherm's face.
07:37James Harrison, good.
07:39I'm gonna go Nick Bosa as better.
07:42And then I'll go Terrell Suggs as best.
07:43And here's the only reason I'm gonna say that,
07:45is that I thought Terrell Suggs is one of the most complete guys
07:48when it came to pass rush, playing the run game.
07:50He was able to really shut down teams on one side entirety of the field.
07:54And one of the most athletic freaks I've ever played against.
07:56Nick Bosa, special rusher, had a hard term playing healthy.
08:00So, wasn't healthy in many of the games.
08:02You got a lot of reaction from your teammates.
08:03Well, I mean, James.
08:05What did they know?
08:05James Harrison broke my sternum.
08:07Great.
08:08Yeah, I didn't even know the sternum.
08:09Didn't get by me much.
08:10So, that's why he's raising it.
08:12Oh.
08:13Don't be disrespectful.
08:15I played him 22 times.
08:17Okay, Tony, you're up next.
08:19Good, better, best for these three special athletes.
08:22Derek Thomas, Dante Hall, Julio Jones.
08:25Ooh.
08:25We've enjoyed Sticks.
08:27Special athletes, we're calling them.
08:28Special athletes.
08:29You know what?
08:30I'm going to go good on Derek Thomas.
08:32You know, I was young.
08:33I only really played him 22, two years.
08:35And then, unfortunately, he passed away.
08:38Next up, I'm going to, better would be, God, because of the human joystick.
08:44I'm going to go human joystick.
08:46Okay?
08:46You know, watching him, that phenomenal run that he had when he was returning those
08:51kicks and punts, it was incredible to be a part of.
08:54But, best is Julio Jones.
08:57He is the beast.
08:58To me, he's one of the best receivers of all time.
09:00Playing together for those few years.
09:02We had it going out there in Atlanta.
09:04You know, I was teammates with Dante Hall as well.
09:07Yeah?
09:07I did not know that.
09:08St. Louis Rams.
09:10Oh.
09:10Okay.
09:10All right.
09:11I got one.
09:12Mine's actually for CP.
09:13You're calling inaudible here?
09:14I'm for Carissa right here.
09:15I got you.
09:16All right?
09:16So, listen.
09:16We all know, listen.
09:18All this stage right here, TNF on Prime did, was get a chance for more of the world
09:22to see the greatest host there is in sports.
09:26We all know that.
09:27She has also got a million jobs.
09:29She's been amazing at everything she's ever done.
09:31And, in our opinion, you're the best there is.
09:33Okay?
09:33But, your talent's been evident on other things you've done.
09:36So, I want to give you a chance to rank these three shows.
09:40Oh, wow.
09:41With better or best that you've been a part of.
09:43Extra Shaq versus or Splash.
09:44Oh, my gosh.
09:44The Shaq versus.
09:45One.
09:46Do you guys remember that?
09:47Shaq versus.
09:49Take on guys in their respective sports.
09:50That was fantastic.
09:51Extra shout out to Mario Lopez.
09:53Mario still looks exactly.
